Over twenty confirmed projects are underway at the Carnegie Mellon University of Pittsburgh, all are using break-through new technologies to monitor senior actions and behaviors. State of the art motion sensors, cameras, heart rate monitors, etc are being used to detect everything from medication dosage to walking patterns for fall prevention. Their mission is to employ robotic and monitoring technology to assist seniors that want to live independently.
